"I'm basically a professional now." — every kid who just leveled up. 😂
One class ago they wouldn't put their face in the water. Today they're giving swim tips to their little sibling.

Growth is loud, proud, and a little bit hilarious. We're here for all of it.

3 red flags I ignored last year as a swim parent.

🚩 "We don't vacation near water" — but water danger doesn't wait for vacation. It's the bathtub, the backyard, the neighbor's pool. It's year-round and it's close to home.
🚩 "We always wear floaties" — they felt like safety. Turns out they can teach kids the actual drowning position, and the second they come off, so does the confidence.
🚩 "We'll get to it someday" — I finally tried to name my reason for waiting. I didn't have one.

Never again. This year, we're not waiting for a scare to take it seriously.
Swimming is the skill. Safety is the lesson. 💧
