Today, we pause not to celebrate, but to remember.

Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the incredible sacrifice made by the brave men and women of our United States Armed Forces who gave their lives defending this nation, our freedoms, and the values we hold dear. It is because of their courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication that we are able to live, work, and raise our families in freedom.

At Jefferson County 911, today we honor those who answered the greatest call. “Greater love has no man than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Behind every fallen hero is a family forever changed. A parent missing a child. A spouse carrying on without their partner. Children growing up with only memories and stories of the hero they called mom or dad. Their sacrifices did not end on the battlefield, and today we remember them as well.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we all take a moment of silence to reflect on the true meaning of this day. Fly your flags proudly, cherish your loved ones, and never forget the price that was paid for the freedoms we often take for granted.

To all of our fallen service members: your courage will never be forgotten, your sacrifice will never go unnoticed, and your legacy will forever live on in the hearts of a grateful nation.

We remember you today and every day. 🇺🇸
