The history of Erwin High School

Eugene Brown Erwin High School was originally constructed in 1957 as a junior high school. Named for a former superintendent, the school opened serving 240 students in grades 7-9. The community built playing fields in 1961. In 1964 it expanded into a high school for grades 7-12 and the new Erwin Elementary was built. This photograph is from the 1968 Aquila, the Erwin yearbook.
