🌍 Building Global Connections in Center Point! 🇸🇳

The City of Center Point was honored to welcome a delegation of mayors from Senegal, West Africa!
The visiting mayors have been following the leadership of Mayor Bobby Scott and the progress taking place throughout Center Point. Their interest inspired them to request an opportunity to visit our city, meet its leaders, and learn more about our community.

We are grateful for this meaningful visit and look forward to building a strong partnership centered on collaboration, shared ideas, economic development, and community growth.

From Center Point to Senegal, we are creating connections that reach across borders and open doors to new opportunities!

Mayor Bobby Scott Jr. and Council President Glenn Williams Sr. are featured in the Summer 2026 edition of The Alabama Municipal Journal, published by the Alabama League of Municipalities!
The article, “Center Point Leverages Economic Development Academy Experience to Shape Its Future,” highlights the City’s participation in the League’s Economic Development Academy and our continued efforts to promote business recruitment, revitalize Center Point Parkway, improve infrastructure and create long-term economic growth.

We congratulate Mayor Scott and Council President Williams for representing Center Point and for helping move our city forward!

At the recommendation of legal counsel, I initially chose not to respond to the false allegations made by one of my colleagues. However, because this narrative continues to circulate, I have decided to address it by sharing this statement from City Attorney Hendrix, along with a link to the City of Center Point’s official YouTube page.

Whenever the necessary technology has been available, our City Council meetings have been streamed and/or recorded. Our YouTube history clearly reflects that commitment to transparency.

We have been out of City Hall for a month because of the mold abatement.

A review of previous meetings will also show occasions when councilors’ interactions with a live online audience became a distraction from the official business before the Council. There is nothing wrong with streaming a public meeting, but it should be done in a manner that does not interfere with conducting the people’s business.

My hope and prayer are that the policies, resolutions, and ordinances of the City of Center Point will be respected and followed by every elected official and citizen.

Now that the City Attorney’s statement has been shared and the public record confirms that our meetings have been and continue to be streamed I hope we can put this matter to rest once and for all.

Let us come together on the first and third Thursdays of each month, focus on the business of the City, and continue moving this great city forward.
