This is what inclusive biking the High Line Canal can look like!

Last winter, we teamed up with Cycling Without Age for a bike tour that brought guests through the Waterton Canyon by trishaw. Now, we’re doing it again — this time in Aurora!

Join us this Saturday, September 5, for a 6-mile bike tour of the High Line Canal and DeLaney Homestead. Along the way, historians from the History Museum will share stories about some of Aurora’s oldest structures.

Need a ride? Cycling Without Age Littleton will bring two trishaws, with space for up to four guests who can’t currently ride a bicycle but can comfortably sit in a trishaw.

Join us on Friday, September 25 for an evening celebrating the history, impact and future of the High Line Canal.

Set beneath the cottonwoods along the Canal, Dine for the High Line, presented by Land Title Guarantee Company, is the Conservancy's signature al fresco gathering, uniting friends and supporters to share in connection and celebration. Enjoy cocktails, dinner, live music and the crisp charm of an early autumn night as we honor our 2026 High Line Hero and Nina B. Itin Volunteer Impact Award recipients, Harriet Crittenden LaMair and Nelson Holland. Proceeds from the event support the High Line Canal Conservancy's mission to preserve, protect and enhance the High Line Canal in partnership with the public.

On behalf of the Conservancy and this year's co-chairs, Paula Herzmark and Jim Lochhead, we hope you'll join us as we reflect on the Canal's legacy and invest in its future.

I thought I'd seen it all, but in this economy a whole bag of chicken is WILD 😂

Today I went out with KWEEN WERK to clean a section of the High Line Canal Conservancy right in her neighborhood. I knew we'd find some trash, but I couldn't believe how much we found with this section of the trail literally being people's backyards.

At the end of it Parker said, “This is making me wonder how well we cleaned up the BBQ from last month.”

For me, that's what it's all about. These are our trails, our parks, our neighborhoods...if we don't take care of them, who will?

Whether you're cleaning a 71-mile trail, a park, or just your sidewalk, we can all make a difference. Appreciate you making a difference today, Parker.

Just between Marrama Park and the High Line Canal Trail in Green Valley Ranch, the Conservancy's Prairie Planting Pilot Project is helping restore a piece of Colorado’s native prairie landscape.

Designed to increase biodiversity, provide critical habitat for pollinators and wildlife and showcase water-wise native species, the project brought more than 170 native prairie plants to the trail corridor with the help of community volunteers in 2023. Today, those plants continue to support birds, bees, butterflies and other wildlife throughout the year.

In the coming years, this area will be further enhanced as part of the Marrama Park improvement project. The revitalized space will offer trail users a place to pause, relax in the shade and learn about the adjacent prairie restoration efforts. Planned amenities include a shade shelter, seating, educational signage and an outdoor learning area that celebrates the importance of native plants and pollinator habitat.

The space will also serve as an outdoor classroom for Marrama Elementary School, creating hands-on opportunities for students to explore ecology, conservation and Colorado’s unique prairie ecosystems right in their own neighborhood!

Trail work is underway in East Denver! 🚧 Resurfacing has begun on the High Line Canal Trail between Parker Road and Havana Street. Crews started between Parker and Dayton and will continue west toward Valencia, with work wrapping up on the final segment between Valencia and Parker.

The project is making good progress and will bring a smoother, more enjoyable trail experience to this stretch of the Canal.

Let’s give our trees a little love! Join us for a tree care and stewardship day along the Canal in Centennial.

With ongoing drought and dry conditions putting stress on vegetation across the region, caring for our young trees is more important than ever. Together, we’ll help our young trees thrive by removing unnecessary fencing, weeding around their bases, adding mulch and giving them a good drink of water.

Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome, and everyone can pitch in. Come get your hands dirty and help care for the Canal’s growing tree canopy! Registration is required.

With 71 miles of trail, the High Line Canal showcases a wonderful variety of character zones. Some parts are lush with leafy, riparian vegetation, while others open up to beautiful, wispy prairie landscapes. Both trail users and wildlife enjoy every mile of the Canal.
