🚨 Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Driver Arrested 🚨
It pays to trust your instincts.
While working the graveyard shift, Team 3 deputies spotted a vehicle in the 14000 block of E. Fremont Ave. The engine was running, but the driver was not awake or alert.
Deputies checked the vehicle and learned it had been reported stolen in Boulder a few days earlier. Deputies were also concerned for the driver's welfare because he was not responding. Before approaching the vehicle, they made several attempts to get his attention, including activating their emergency lights and using the patrol vehicle's loudspeaker.
When the driver still did not respond, deputies approached the vehicle. The driver's door was unlocked, and deputies contacted him and took him into custody. The driver, Jacob Ward, 37, was charged with motor vehicle theft, trespassing, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
