As we commemorate this historic day, we honor the courage, resilience, and contributions of generations of Black Americans and reaffirm our commitment to equality, justice, and freedom for all.

"June 19, 1865, marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people were freed. Featuring an all-star line-up of performers, this 90-minute concert event will celebrate the freedoms guaranteed by our First Amendment: of speech, religion, press, assembly, and protest, and the people power that both fuels these rights and is essential to guarantee them.
