🌟 Learning in Action! 🌟

There’s nothing better than seeing students actively engaged, collaborating, and having fun while learning! Our classrooms were buzzing with excitement as students worked together to deepen their understanding and make their learning visible. 📚✨

➕ Mrs. Reyes’ Bilingual 3rd Grade: Students represented and solved addition problems using number lines and vertical learning boards. They had tons of fun while learning and were eager to share their thinking! 🎉

📖 Mrs. Smith’s 3rd Grade: Students worked on identifying strong text evidence using our vertical learning boards. They were thinking critically, discussing their ideas, and supporting their answers with evidence! 💡

🔢 Ms. Stephens’ 2nd Grade: Students became the teachers as they showed one another how a number can be deconstructed and reconstructed in different ways while keeping the same value! What a fantastic way to build mathematical understanding through collaboration! 🙌

💫 From math to literacy, our students are proving that learning is even more powerful when they can move, talk, collaborate, explain, and have fun!

🧡 6:00 – PTA Meeting
⭐ 6:15 – Hometown Hero Kickoff (formerly Watch D.O.G.S.)

Our two curriculum sessions give families with children in multiple grade levels the opportunity to attend more than one meeting. Come meet our staff, learn how you can partner with us this year, visit the Book Fair, and see all the great things happening at Lykins!

✏️🧑‍🎨 Meet Mat Man! 🧑‍🎨✏️

Ms. Montero’s bilingual Pre-K students had fun learning about and building Mat Man! Through this hands-on activity, our little learners are beginning to recognize and practice the foundational curves and sticks that are essential for developing strong handwriting formations. ✏️〰️➖

Building Mat Man helps students strengthen body awareness, fine-motor skills, and early handwriting readiness—all while learning through play and creativity! 💛

We’re so proud of our budding writers and the excitement they bring to learning each day! 🌟📚

Our 2nd grade students in Ms. Cannizzaro’s class put their math knowledge to work during engaging math stations! ➕➖✖️🔢

From problem-solving to practicing important math skills, our mathematicians were busy learning, collaborating, and showing what they know. We love seeing students take ownership of their learning and have fun with math along the way! 🧡🧮
