6:38 AM ET 9/5/26: Special Weather Statement until 7:15 AM 9/5/26 for Mercer and Auglaize counties. A strong thunderstorm was over Ohio City moving southeast at 35 mph. Wind gusts up to 45 mph may knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. If outdoors, seek shelter inside a sturdy building.

A strong thunderstorm near Coldwater moving southeast at 20 mph with wind gusts up to 50 mph, pea-size hail, and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. Gusty winds may knock down tree limbs and hail can cause minor damage. Seek shelter in a sturdy building.

Sept 1st, 2026:

After having some cooler temperatures, it can be easy to forget just how quickly your body can be affected when the heat and humidity come back. So as we get into those hotter days, make sure you’re drinking plenty of water, taking breaks if you’re working or exercising outside, and trying to avoid spending long periods of time outdoors during the hottest part of the afternoon.

Hot temperatures and high heat indices will occur for the next three days as strong upper level high pressure spreads over the area. The heat will ease late in the week as a cold front sags southwards.

Spoke with US National Weather Service Wilmington OH they told us these are likely Cold Air Funnels and likely will not touch the ground. Please let us know where you spot them and stay clear from them.
