Free Hill water outage: on Thursday, Sept 10 water will be temporarily out of service for some residents of the Free Hills area from approximately 8 am until noon. The reason for the planned outage is the disconnection and demolition of the old Free Hill pump station. We appreciate the patience of the residents in that area as we upgrade the water distribution system.

An inside look at our new pump station: Today, some finishing touches were made on the City of Celina's new pump station that serves the Free Hills area. The pumps ran successfully, during their initial testing getting to approximately 80 gallons per minute output. In addition, an in-tank mixer was installed inside the Free Hill water tank. We look forward to updating the public on future upgrades and improvements to our water distribution system.

New water pumping station: The City of Celina is getting a new pump station installed that will serve our customers of the Free Hills area. This particular pump station pumps to a 75,000 gallon water tank. This will replace a pump station that has been in service for decades. This upgrade is part of the City of Celina's plan to rehabilitate the water distribution system throughout our service area in Clay County. Earlier this month, we had the water tank at the Free Hills professionally cleaned and service work completed on that tank. In the near future, service repairs and rehabilitation will begin on Marcum tank, a 500,000 gallon water tank that is our largest tank in the system by volume. We will provide updates about future upgrades as they are completed. Pictured are two photos of the new pump station and a photo of the older one.

During that morning, Neely’s Creek will be temporarily closed while the crane is being transported to Free Hill Road. Free Hill Road (at the bottom of the hill) will be closed on August 27 for the installation of the pump station. We apologize for any inconvenience, but the old pump station is over 50 years old and is in dire need of replacement.
