Summer Safety Reminder from NJFD

Did you know? A garden hose left out in the sun can heat up quickly—reaching temperatures over 130°F in just minutes. That’s hot enough to cause serious burns, especially to children and pets.

Before spraying yourself, your kids, or pets—run the water for a few seconds to flush out any scalding hot water trapped in the hose.

Store hoses in shaded areas when possible.

We care about your safety — inside and out. Stay cool, stay safe!

Our Engine, Ladder and Medic crews had a great time at the Summer Reading Kickoff Party at the Cedarville Community Library today! FF J. Miller even made some new friends there.

Huge thank you to Briella’s Hot Dogs for providing our members with dinner for our association meeting this month! Everything we tried was delicious and everyone went back for seconds…or thirds. We are so excited to have them moving to Cedarville soon!! Be sure to check them out! 🌭

We’re celebrating another huge milestone this month! 🎉 Congratulations to EMS Lt. Danielle Price on reaching 15 years as a volunteer at CTVFD! Lt. Price truly pours her heart and soul into this department. She constantly finds ways to improve our processes in order to better serve our patients and community. She has dedicated countless hours to our department doing monthly medic inventory, training and checking off new members, running scenarios, organizing our annual EMS Fun Night, performing QA/QI, going on calls, keeping the station clean and organized and much, much more. We would truly be lost without her! Thank you, Lt. Price, for everything you do for our department and community!

We’d also like to thank Church Street Cookies for the amazing custom cookies and The Village Petaler for the beautiful flower arrangement. We’re grateful for these small businesses that are a part of our community!

Thank you to Premier Health EMS Coordinator, Daniel, for taking the time to organize a patient reunion and presenting our EMS crew with a special “Cardiac Save” award. We would also like to thank the Cedarville Police Department for all of their assistance on scene. Great teamwork by all, and we are so thankful for an amazing patient outcome.

From the EMS Coordinator: “On February 1, Cedarville Fire responded to a Cardiac Arrest. As a result of their actions and the actions of the Cedarville Police Department, the patient is alive today. It was an emotional reunion watching the survivor thank the Cedarville Fire and Police departments for acting swiftly and saving her life.”
