Yesterday morning Polk County had severe storms start through our area and we continued to recieve multiple rounds of bad storms throughout the day and night.
Most of which resulted in downed trees, downed power poles and lines, trees on houses, trees across roads, lightning strikes to house that needed to be checked, flooding and auto accidents.
I have to say that Polk County 911 and Polk Ema staff done a phenomenal job in handling and dispatching the many calls to all the specific departments that needed to respond.
Thanks to all the personnel of Polk County Volunteer Fire, Cedartown Fire and Rockmart Fire and all local Police departments who did a fantastic job of answering and handling multiple calls at one time to get everyone taken care of.
Also a big thanks to GA power and their crews and to Polk County Road department for all their help.

Continued prayers for all those affected by the storms and a big thank to all of those who was there to help our community through a very stormy day.
Together we are Polk Strong.

Randy Lacey
EMA Director
