You don't wanna miss our America250 celebration coming up on June 27.

We're getting everyone together to celebrate America's 250th anniversary in a BIG way.

Family-friendly with no need to stop and fill up your gas tank to go out of town, these events are practically in your own backyard!

First up: A Red, White + Blue Parade in Downtown Cedartown!
This is a fully-sanctioned Shriners Parade, meaning that Shriners from all over Northwest Georgia will be making a stop in Cedartown that morning. We even have some Alabama Shriners coming over to participate! The parade starts at 10 a.m. Anyone can participate in this parade -- no fancy floats or decorations needed. Put on your best red, white, and blue outfit and come on down! We would love to see local businesses, churches, civic clubs and families participate in the fun. If you're more of a wallflower, no worries, you can wave your American flag from the sidewalk.

It's $0 to enter! All we ask is that you fill out a super short form so we know how many people to expect. There's also a refresher on American Flag Code we need you to read! https://form.jotform.com/260694248107157

After the parade, go shop a little downtown, grab a bite at one of our restaurants, rest a spell, and then come out to Bert Wood Park to play in adult kickball tournament. The tourney starts at 2 p.m. and just like the parade, anyone is welcome to sign up. It's totally free! Register your team here: www.cedartownrecreation.com

After the tournament, settle in for fam-friendly lawn games, delish food, and a 7 p.m. concert from Georgia Red Clay. Our LIGHT UP THE NIGHT professional FIREWORKS display begins at dark-thirty. Be sure to bring a blanket or lawn chair and some spending cash for food and treats!

We want to give a very special THANK YOU to our community partners -- SOLARCYCLE, Cedarstream, and Trammell Lawn Care, along with GFL Environmental and the Cedartown Exchange Club!

Their support means so much! Cedartown Celebrates America250 is happening because of their commitment to our town ☺️

Morning, Cedartown!

Excessive rainfall is projected to move into the area over the next few days, thanks to a tropical weather system developing off the coast of Texas.

A flood watch was issued by the National Weather Service for our area and is in effect from 8 a.m. Thursday until 2 a.m. Saturday. There is a chance for strong storms as well.

Be sure to follow Polk County Emergency Management Agency and sign up for weather alerts by texting ENROLLPOLK to 77295

Not only do we have the best firefighters and police officers around, we also have some pretty slick fishermen in our City of Cedartown family.

Firefighters Josh Fenley and Jose Nevarez apparently know how to reel in the big'uns. They won first place out of 30 boats in yesterday's 42nd Annual Georgia Police and Fire Games Bass Tournament, weighing in at 15.21 pounds on a 5 fish bag limit. 🤩 Jose got the "Big Fish" tourney award, as he hauled in a 5.5-pound bass. Okay Jose -- we see you!

Officers Dane Hunter and Aaron Sartin earned fourth place in the tournament held at Lake Allatoona. Way to go guys! First, second, third and fourth place teams earned medals for their accomplishments. Out of all the competition from around the state, we think Cedartown walking away with two top awards is awesome!

The annual gaming event designed for public safety officials features more than just a finishing tournament. Current and retired first responders can take part in golfing, marksmanship, mountain biking, basketball and more.

We are so proud for our guys and hope they had a great time enjoying the outdoors and fellowship!

Good morning, Cedartown!

Buzzing by to let you know that we've paused applications for the 2026 Holloway Hunnypot Festival. We had such an overwhelming response. We're currently at capacity for the seventh annual festival (can you believe this will be the seventh year??)

We will be using this time to review the applications we already have on file -- so, if you applied, be sure to check your email over the next few days!

Once we review the applications, more space may become available. If that happens, we will open the online application back up.

Thanks for your understanding as our festival hive continues to grow 🍯
