Due to the extreme drought we are having USCDWUA has implemented 2026 Drought Policies beginning May 1.
Base rate of $75 up to 7,500 gallons.
Overage rates will be as follows:
7,501-13,000 gal/month $2.00/1,000 gal
13,001-20,000 gal/month $3.00/1,000 gal
20,001-30,000 gal/month $4.00/1,000 gal
30,001-40,000 gal/month $8.00/1,000 gal
40,001-50,000 gal/month $16.00/1,000 gal
Over 50,000 gal/month $20.00/1,000 gal
No outside watering between 9am-6pm.

Notice of Special Meeting

A Special Membership Meeting of the Upper Surface Creek Domestic Water Users Association will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 at 6:30 pm at 17257 Meadow Dr. Cedaredge, CO.

For the purpose of discussing and informing the membership of the USDA funding application.

We just sent out a Public Education template on Lead and Copper. It is nothing more than information on how to prevent lead contaminants. It is a requirement to send out once a year until the Lead and Copper is resolved. We just got approval from the State Engineer to install the chemical feed to raise the PH of the water. We are now in contact with Filter Tech.

The notice that was just sent out was for not having the recommended treatment installed for Lead and Copper by May 24, the deadline from 2 years ago. The State Engineer has had the recommendation since November 2023 and has not approved the treatment yet. Alice from Element Engineer has been following up with the State Engineer to try to get it approved ASAP. It is simple chemical feed to raise the PH of the water.

Lead & Copper What Happened and What is Being Done
USCDWUA DOES NOT have any lead pipes or fixtures in the system. Two times a year USCDWUA is required to sample twenty (20) sites that were built between 1981 and 1988. During our 1st testing of 2023, several of the sites came back over the EPA Lead
Action Level of 0.015 mg/L. USCDWUA will now be required install corrosion control treatment to raise the pH of the water. We are working with an engineer to submit treatment design plans to CDPHE (Colorado Department of Public Health &
Environment) and have treatment installed by May 2024.
USCDWUA is fulfilling all the requirements from CDPHE.
