On Tuesday June 23rd, 2026 the Tour of America’s Dairyland WILO USA Cedar Creek Classic bike races will once again take place in the City of Cedarburg.

Roadways related to the races will be closed from approximately 8:00am to 10:00pm, with Washington Avenue closing around 7:00am to allow for setup. Access to residences and businesses in the area will be limited during the event, but anyone wishing to get onto Madison, St. John, or Hanover should approach from the north side of the course where the car icons are shown on the map.

There will be “No Parking” signs related to the race footprint placed out prior to race day. Any vehicles remaining on the roadway leading up to the races will be subject to towing. Please review the attached map.

🚧 South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update 🚧

Construction progress continues on South Washington Avenue, although recent rain has caused a slight delay in the schedule.

📍 This Thursday and Friday, crews will be relaying water and sewer mains at Fairfield Street, requiring a local closure. Access to Fairfield Street and nearby businesses will remain available from either the north or south.

📍 Next Monday, utility work between Fairfield Street and Alyce Street will require another local closure. Businesses will remain accessible, but motorists should follow posted detours.

📍 Next Tuesday, storm sewer work at Zeunert Street will require the closure of Zeunert at Washington Avenue.

In addition, crews have begun pavement removal and roadway base preparation. Traffic continues to be shifted to the west side of Washington Avenue, and next week this traffic pattern will extend south of Pioneer Road to the City limits.

Please allow extra travel time, follow posted detours, and continue to support local businesses during construction. We appreciate your patience as improvements to this important corridor move forward.

All schedules remain subject to change based on weather and construction progress.

🚧 South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update 🚧

Due to last Friday’s rain, construction activities have been pushed back by one day.

📍This Week
• Today: Water main work at Concord Street requiring a local closure.
• Thursday & Friday: Water service work between Pioneer Road and Zeunert Street requiring local closures. Businesses and apartment buildings will remain accessible from either the north or south.

📍Next Week
• Monday & Tuesday: Water and sewer main work at Fairfield Street requiring a local closure.
• Wednesday: Water service work at Concord Street requiring a local closure between Fairfield and Alyce.
• The remainder of the week will include storm sewer work near Zeunert Street and continued roadwork preparation at the south end of the project.

🚗 Traffic Impacts
Southbound traffic will be detoured via Lincoln Blvd, Evergreen Blvd, and Pioneer Rd. Northbound traffic will be detoured via Zeunert St, Cardinal Ave, and Lincoln Blvd.

The current traffic configuration remains in place, with both directions of traffic shifted to the west side of Washington Avenue. Beginning next week, the closure area will extend south of Pioneer Road to the City limits.

Thank you for your continued patience during construction. The project remains scheduled for completion by November 6, 2026, with hopes of finishing sooner.

🚧 **South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update** 🚧

A few changes have been made to this week's construction schedule:

✅ **This Week:** Work will remain within the standard two-lane closure as crews complete sewer lateral reconnections, hydrant replacement, water taps, and water service work. There will be **no additional local closures across all four lanes of Washington Avenue this week.**

⚠️ **Next Week:** Crews will continue utility work that will require temporary local closures between Pioneer Road and Zeunert Street, as well as at Concord Street on Tuesday. Access to businesses and residences will remain available, but may need to be approached from the north or south depending on the work location. Please follow posted detour routes.

🚜 Beginning the week of **June 15**, Vinton Construction plans to start road grading operations at the south end of the project.

Traffic will continue to be shifted to the west side of Washington Avenue, with the east lanes closed. This traffic pattern will extend south of Pioneer Road to the City limits next week.

For the safety of everyone enjoying our downtown, please remember to walk your wheels while on the sidewalks along Washington Avenue between Sheboygan Road and Spring Street.

This ordinance applies to:
✅ Bicycles (including e-bikes)
✅ Scooters (including e-scooters)
✅ Skateboards
✅ Inline skates

Downtown sidewalks can be busy with shoppers, diners, families, and visitors. Walking your wheels helps keep our pedestrian areas safe and enjoyable for everyone.

🚧 South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update 🚧

Due to complications encountered during today’s work, the closure of all four lanes of Washington Avenue just north of Zeunert Street will resume on Monday as crews continue replacing a sewer line across the roadway. The area will be reopened for the weekend, with gravel trenches remaining in place.

Beginning Tuesday, Vinton Construction will begin relaying multiple water laterals across Washington Avenue between Pioneer Road and Zeunert Street. Crews plan to complete one crossing per day, resulting in moving local closures throughout the week. Access to businesses will remain available, but motorists may need to approach from either the north or south depending on the work location.

Traffic impacts next week include:
➡️ Southbound detour: Lincoln Blvd. → Evergreen Blvd. → Pioneer Rd. → Washington Ave.
⬅️ Northbound detour: Pioneer Rd. → Cardinal Ave. → Lincoln Blvd. → Washington Ave.

In addition, both directions of traffic will be shifted to the west side of Washington Avenue as the two east lanes are closed. This traffic pattern will extend south of Pioneer Road to the City limits.

🚧 South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update 🚧

Vinton Construction has completed work at Alyce Street, and the intersection is expected to reopen later today once the temporary asphalt has cooled. A local closure north of Zeunert Street is still planned for tomorrow, as noted in last week’s update.

Beginning next week, crews will relay multiple water laterals across all four lanes of Washington Avenue between Pioneer Road and Zeunert Street. This work will require roaming local closures throughout the week depending on the work location each day. Access to businesses will remain open but may need to be approached from either the north or south.

➡️ Southbound Detour:
Lincoln Blvd → Evergreen Blvd → Pioneer Rd → Washington Ave

⬅️ Northbound Detour:
Pioneer Rd → Cardinal Ave → Lincoln Blvd → Washington Ave

In addition, the two east lanes of Washington Avenue will remain closed, with traffic shifted to the west lanes. This lane closure will extend south of Pioneer Road to the City limits next week.

🚧 2026 Street & Utility Project Update 🚧

Construction work will continue throughout the coming weeks on Fair Street, Franklin Avenue, Madison Avenue, St. John Avenue, Elm Street, and Cedar Ridge Drive.

Upcoming work includes:
• Road reconstruction
• Concrete work
• Sanitary sewer relays
• Water main installation
• Sewer/water lateral work

Please note:
⚠️ Streets will remain closed to thru traffic
⚠️ Driveway and roadway access may be limited during working hours but restored at the end of the day whenever possible
⚠️ All dates are weather dependent

Estimated completion dates:
📍 Fair St., Madison Ave., Franklin Ave. — July 24, 2026
