South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update

Progress continues on the South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Project!

Stark Asphalt has completed the asphalt paving, and pavement markings are expected to begin Friday night or Sunday night. Some nighttime or overnight closures may be necessary while this work is completed.

Traffic is currently shifted to the two west lanes of Washington Avenue. Once pavement markings are finished, traffic will move to the two middle lanes so crews can complete the remaining work along the outside lanes.

Next steps include:
• Completing remaining wheelchair ramps and sidewalk areas
• Replacing cracked concrete in several locations
• Continuing installation of wiring and poles for the new traffic signals at Pioneer/Washington and Lincoln/Washington
• Finishing restoration work along the project area

The project is scheduled for completion by November 6, 2026, although crews are hopeful it may be finished sooner.

🚒 Cedarburg Fire Department Facility Discussion

The City of Cedarburg Common Council will discuss long-term facility options for the Cedarburg Fire Department at its September 28 meeting. This discussion will help guide the City’s 2027 Fire Department Capital Budget and future public safety needs.

Five options will be reviewed, including:

* Deferred maintenance: $4.4 million
* Renovation of the existing station: $10.5 million
* Combined Police/Fire facility: $45–$52 million
* New fire station: Approximately $35 million
* Fire protection location study: $17,800

🚲🛴 PROPOSED E-BIKE & E-SCOOTER ORDINANCE | PUBLIC MEETING

The Cedarburg Common Council will review and discuss a proposed ordinance regulating e-bikes, electric scooters, Onewheels, Segways, and similar devices.

The proposed ordinance addresses several key areas, including:

🚲 Where e-bikes, scooters, and similar devices may be operated on city streets, sidewalks, and shared-use paths.

🚦 A proposed 15 mph speed limit on shared-use paths, including the Interurban Trail.

🛑 Age restrictions, safety requirements, parking regulations, and prohibited behaviors.

👮 Enforcement procedures, fines, and potential impoundment for violations.

The proposed regulations are intended to improve safety and reduce conflicts among pedestrians, bicyclists, and other users.

Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about the proposed ordinance.

🚧 SOUTH WASHINGTON AVENUE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 🚧

Exciting progress is being made on the South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Project! Here’s what residents and businesses can expect over the next week:

✅ Concrete Work: All driveway approaches are complete! Remaining sidewalk and wheelchair ramp work is expected to wrap up by the end of this week.

🚦 Traffic Signals: Installation of electrical conduit and pole bases at the Pioneer and Lincoln intersections is expected to be completed in the next day or two.

🚧 Upcoming Paving Schedule:

* Saturday, September 26: First layer of asphalt on the west side.
* Monday, September 28: Final layer of asphalt on the west side.
* Tuesday, September 29: Final layer of asphalt on the east side.

🚗 Traffic Changes: Once paving is complete on the west side, traffic will shift to the newly paved lanes while work continues on the east side. The Pioneer and Lincoln intersections are expected to fully reopen by the middle of next week!

Roadway striping is also scheduled to begin next week, with painting likely taking place at night.

📅 Project Completion: November 6, 2026, with hopes of finishing ahead of schedule!

🚧 South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update

Work continues to move forward on the South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Project!

🔹 Concrete Work: Parisi Construction continues pouring driveway approaches, wheelchair ramps, curb & gutter, and sidewalks. Some driveway access may be temporarily impacted while concrete is poured and cures.

🔹 Traffic Signals: Outdoor Lighting will begin installing electrical conduit and pole bases for the new traffic signals at the Pioneer/Washington and Lincoln/Washington intersections.

🔹 Asphalt Coming Soon: Fine grading is expected to begin next week, followed by adjustments to manholes and valve boxes. The first layer of asphalt is anticipated during the week of September 28!

🚗 Traffic Reminder: The two west lanes of Washington Avenue remain closed, with both directions of traffic using the east lanes, including through the Pioneer and Lincoln intersections.

📅 The project is scheduled for completion by November 6, 2026, with hopes of finishing earlier.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, service members, and everyday heroes who stepped forward in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we remember those who were taken too soon, the families forever changed, and the bravery and unity shown in the days that followed.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

📢 City of Cedarburg Annexation Request Update

The Cedarburg Common Council will consider an annexation request from Covered Bridge Fields, Inc. for approximately 158 acres of land north of Highway 60 (Grob Fields/Neumann Development) at its upcoming meeting.

The annexation request would allow potential future development of the property to move beyond the conceptual stage and be reviewed under City zoning, infrastructure, and long-range planning requirements.

🚧 South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update 🚧

Work continues to move forward on the South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Project!

🔹 Curb & gutter work for the current phase is complete.
🔹 Sidewalk and driveway approach work begins today and is expected to take approximately 2 weeks. Some driveway access will be temporarily impacted while concrete is poured and cures.
🔹 Beginning September 14, work will move into the Pioneer Road and Lincoln Boulevard intersections. This phase is expected to last 2–3 weeks.
🔹 Fine grading and the first layer of asphalt on the west lanes are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of September 21.

Traffic will continue to use the two east lanes of Washington Avenue during this phase.

The overall project remains scheduled for completion by November 6, 2026, with hopes of finishing earlier.

🚧 SOUTH WASHINGTON AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION UPDATE 🚧

Work continues to move forward on the South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Project! Here’s the latest:

🔹 Curb & Gutter: Parisi Construction is continuing curb and gutter work heading north and is expected to complete this portion by the end of today.

🔹 Sidewalks & Driveways: Beginning September 8, crews will start pouring sidewalks and driveway approaches. Some driveways will need to be temporarily closed while work is completed and the concrete cures. Crews will work in sections whenever possible to maintain access to properties.

🔹 Traffic Changes: Traffic is currently shifted to the two east lanes of Washington Avenue, with the two west lanes closed.

⚠️ Beginning September 14, the next phase of traffic control is scheduled to begin. The west lanes within the Pioneer Road and Lincoln Boulevard intersections will be closed so crews can complete work in those areas.

Concrete work is expected to continue for approximately 2–3 weeks.

📅 The overall project is currently scheduled for completion by November 6, 2026, although we are hopeful work can be completed sooner!
