Believing that every person has immutable right to food, shelter, clothing, and lifelong learning,

faith or lack thereof,
Believing that faith communities serve best when they reach beyond their membership and assist the larger community,

Juneteenth, the day when, 21/2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, freedom finally rang for enslaved people in Galveston, TX, although it took the help of US Army troops.

This is the oldest celebration of the end of slavery in the USA. Attend the festival at the African American Museum of Iowa on June 20, 12 - 6 PM.

She went to help her sick brother. When he died suddenly, she stayed for the funeral. Gone for a few weeks, she got home to a shut off notice.

Gifts to ECCF helped keep the water on. Instead of added distress, she was grateful for financial help, some life coaching, and a bag of personal and household care items.
