Starting at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, Cedar Falls Utilities (CFU) will be replacing a water valve on Rainbow Drive near Rownd Street. For CFU to begin the repair, a full-width closure of Rainbow Drive will be required between Rownd Street and Hickory Lane. The closure is anticipated to take one day. Traffic will be detoured by way of Rownd Street, Sunnyside Drive, and Hickory Lane.

Don't miss A Practical Backyard Tour on July 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.! 💚 During this event, local organizations and homeowners will open their green spaces to showcase sustainable and earth-friendly practices such as pollinator plantings, gardening, native plants, rain barrels, biocells, and permeable pavers.

đŸŽŸī¸ Guests will earn a raffle ticket for each location they visit. The prize drawings include gift cards to local businesses, a rain barrel, compost bin, seed starting kit, and more!

Starting today (Tuesday, June 9), the City's contractor, Dave Schmitt Construction, will close a portion of Greenwood Avenue to perform an emergency roadway repair. Local access to property owners will be maintained during the closure. The Hartman Reserve Nature Center will be accessible from Timber Drive. This closure is estimated to be in effect for two weeks.

Beginning Monday, June 8, the City's contractor, Baker Enterprises, will begin the reconstruction of Erik Road west of Hudson Road. For the contractor to begin, a full road closure will be required from Hudson Road to a point 400 feet west near 1807 Erik Road. The road closure will be in effect for approximately six weeks, depending on the weather.

Beginning on Monday, June 8, the City's contractor (Midwest Concrete) will close the eastbound right lane on Greenhill Road from Green Creek Road to Cedar Heights Drive. The purpose of this closure is to complete a sidewalk infill on the south side of Greenhill Road. Please follow the traffic control measures in place and stay out of the work area. The closure is expected to remain in place for one week, depending on the weather.
