Winslow Emergency Medical Services Emergency Medical Services In 2000, Winslow EMS began the transition from being completely volunteer to career department by hiring our Chief, Joyce Midure.

Emergency Medical Services in Winslow Township was started in 1971 after a number of residents fell ill and could not be properly treated or transported to hospitals. As the community progressed and began to grow, so did call volume, in 1997 both Sicklerville Ambulance and Cedar Brook Ambulance combined to form Winslow EMS Foundation Inc. In the following years, Winslow EMS hired the remaining vol

unteers and became a fully staffed career department in 2003. Winslow EMS currently operates 2 ambulances 24/7, and an additional ambulance from 11am-7pm daily. One ambulance is stationed at our headquarters located in Cedar Brook, while the other is located in Sicklerville. The Winslow EMS fleet consists of 5 ambulances, and 2 Command Vehicles. Winslow EMS employs approximately 45 EMTs and also supports a volunteer division. Winslow EMS responds to nearly 5,000 emergency calls a year. Winslow EMS also provides CPR and First Aid training to the public. Volunteer Division
-Winslow EMS takes great pride in our history and we never forget where we came from. Our volunteer program is for anyone who is interested in becoming or is already an Emergency Medical Technician. Our volunteers operate on our ambulances as an additional crew member. Our volunteers are also eligible for training classes and other great opportunities.

Today marks 25 years since the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. It did not take long for phones calls to be made once they knew helps was needed. Winslow EMS was one of the many agencies that sent some members to help.
Today we laid out flags honoring those 2,977 people killed in the attacks. Including 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD, 37 Port Authority Police Officers, 8 EMT's and paramedics, 1 NY fire patrol, and 55 members of the U.S military. We also laid flags for those that lost their lives of complications of the aftermath.
Along with the flags, members of Winslow EMS, Winslow Township Fire Department, Winslow OEMS and Winslow Township Police Department (NJ) came together to honor those that lost their lives and the ones that went and ran towards danger not knowing what was going to happen.

A special thanks to Raising the Bar for coming and providing treats to everyone.

It is that time of the year that is bittersweet. Sadness comes because summer is over and happiness and excitement comes because its a new school year to make new friends.
