This afternoon we had the privilege of celebrating Officer George Jeffcoat and his well deserved retirement after 25 years of dedicated service to the City of Cayce.

Throughout his career, Officer Jeffcoat served in a variety of roles across our police, fire, and parks departments, always bringing a strong work ethic, a servant’s heart, and a willingness to go the extra mile. Whether helping a coworker, serving our citizens, or stepping up wherever he was needed most, George could always be counted on.

While we’ll certainly miss his dependable presence, his delicious meals, and the countless ways he supported those around him, we are grateful for the impact he has made on our organization and community over the last 25 years.

Today, we were honored to celebrate this milestone alongside George and his family with a great meal and even better company. Please join us in thanking him for his years of service and wishing him a happy, healthy, and well-deserved retirement filled with time spent making memories with those he loves most.

Congratulations, Officer Jeffcoat, and thank you for 25 years of service to the City of Cayce!

Most residential property crimes occur during hours of darkness. Good lighting is one of the simplest and most effective crime prevention tools available to homeowners.

Well-lit entryways, visible address numbers, trimmed landscaping, and clear sight lines can help deter criminal activity and improve safety for residents, visitors, and first responders.

Take a look at a few ways lighting and visibility can help protect your property.

Meet Officer Vasquez!

After earning a master’s degree in pharmaceutical chemistry and building a successful career in the field, Officer Vasquez chose to pursue a career in law enforcement and service to others.

A polyglot who speaks three languages, he uses his language skills to connect with people from all walks of life. In this week’s Behind the Badge, you’ll even get to see a few of those skills on display!

When he’s not serving the community, he enjoys training dogs and continuing to learn new things. He says one of the best parts of joining CPD has been the warm welcome he’s received from both the department and the community.

Watch this week’s Behind the Badge to get to know Officer Vasquez!
