Another great and beautiful day at the Cave Spring Fire Department. Even on a Saturday, our members are committed to training and readiness.

Today’s training focused on Hydrant Operations with our CSFD volunteers. Members reviewed proper procedures for opening, flushing, and connecting to fire hydrants, ensuring our crews remain prepared to provide safe and effective fire protection to the citizens and visitors of our community.

Great job Firefighter's Will Pitts and Alex Lawrence in leading todays training. 🚒💪

Today is International Firefighters Day, observed annually on May 4th to honor the bravery, dedication, and sacrifices of firefighters worldwide.

Plus today is also "May the fourth” which is a pun on a favorite line from the Star Wars movies, “May the Force be with you.”

🚫🔥 Annual Summer Burn Ban Begins May 1 🔥🚫

The City of Cave Spring Fire Department would like to remind our residents that the Georgia Environmental Protection Division Summer Burn Ban goes into effect May 1 through October 1 for designated counties across Georgia.

What You Need to Know:
Open burning of yard debris and other materials is not permitted during this time in affected counties.

Cave Spring residents should always verify local and state regulations before burning

Let’s do our part to keep Cave Spring safe, healthy, and compliant this summer! ☀️

🚫 Annual Summer Burn Ban Begins May 1

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division’s annual summer burn ban goes into effect tomorrow for 54 counties, primarily in and around metro Atlanta.

This seasonal ban is in place each year to help protect air quality during the summer months and will remain in effect through October 1.

⚠️ What this means:
➡️ Open burning is not permitted in the affected counties during this time
➡️ The ban is separate from current wildfire-related restrictions in other parts of the state

If you live in or near metro Atlanta, be sure to check if your county is included and plan accordingly.

Please keep one of our own, CSFD member Brendan Jones, and his crew from Cherokee County Fire, in your thoughts and prayers as they are currently deployed to South Georgia assisting with the ongoing wildfires.

Let’s come together as a community and lift them up for strength, safety, and a safe return home.
Stay safe, Brennan.

When communities across Georgia face devastating wildfires, we step forward because service does not stop at county lines.

Today, Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services deployed four personnel and an engine to South Georgia to assist with ongoing wildfire suppression efforts. The deployment was made through the Georgia Mutual Aid Group (GMAG), which coordinates resources across the state during large scale emergencies.

Our crew departed Sunday afternoon and will support firefighting operations in areas where wildfires have burned tens of thousands of acres and forced evacuations.

While our personnel are assisting in South Georgia, Cherokee County remains fully staffed and ready to respond to emergencies at home.
We stand with the communities impacted and with every responder working to protect lives and property.
