NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Cato, will meet for a workshop on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Municipal Building, 11320 Short Cut Rd, Cato, NY 13033 to discuss revisions to the Town of Cato’s contracts with the Cato Fire Department, Weedsport Fire Department and Jordan Fire Department.

The May 5th meeting includes two public hearings:
1. Repeal of health insurance law that allows the board to discontinue health insurance benefits for part-time elected and part-time retired officials & employees.
2. Discussion regarding the proposed lease of 1 acre of land at the closed landfill on Baker Rd. to house a Battery Energy Storage System.

Hoping that this month we have the kinks worked out and that the audio and video will work perfectly. We've been performing test runs and so far everything has worked smoothly. My apologies for last months challenges...we are always trying to do better. Thank you for your patience and grace as we attempt to create more transparency for the residents of the Town of Cato.

NOTICE is hereby provided that the Cato Town Board will hold a public hearing at the regularly scheduled Town Board Meeting on May 5, 2026 at 7:30 PM, Town of Cato Municipal Building, 11320 Short Cut Rd, Cato, NY 13033, for public comment on proposed Local Law No. 1-26 repealing Local Law Chapter 17, Article II, Health Insurance in its entirety, discontinuing health insurance coverage for part-time elected officials, part-time employees, retired part-time elected officials and retired part-time employees, and managing future health insurance benefits by resolution and policy change.
