The Harris County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fellow officer of Warm Springs Police Department, Sergeant Chris Fisher, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty.

Early this morning, Deputies from our Patrol Division and H.E.A.T. Unit responded to Warm Springs to provide assistance and support during the investigation, surrounding Sergeant Fisher’s line of duty death.

We stand with the Warm Springs Police Department during this difficult time and honor Sergeant Fisher’s service and sacrifice to his community.

Please keep Sergeant Fisher’s family, the Warm Springs Police Department, and all those affected by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.

Rest in Peace Sergeant Fisher, we will hold the line from here 💙💙💙

🔥 **DID YOU KNOW? — What is ISO?** 🚒

You may have heard someone mention the **“ISO rating”** of a fire department, but what does that actually mean?

ISO — the **Insurance Services Office** — evaluates communities based on their ability to respond to and suppress fires. The evaluation can include things such as:

🚒 Fire department capabilities and training
💧 Water supply and availability
📞 Emergency communications
🧯 Equipment and staffing
📍 Fire station locations and response capabilities

The results contribute to a **Public Protection Classification (PPC)** that insurance companies may use when determining property insurance rates.

So why does this matter?

Because the work that happens **before the emergency** matters.

Training. Equipment maintenance. Water supply. Communications. Staffing. Station readiness. All of these pieces work together to help us be prepared when our community needs us.

And as a volunteer fire department, that preparation takes dedication from the men and women who give their time to serve our community.

It is with heavy hearts that we join our brothers and sisters at Harris County EMS in mourning the loss of a fellow EMS first responder.

Our thoughts and prayers are with their family, friends, coworkers, and the entire Harris County EMS family during this difficult time.

The first responder community is a family, and when one of us is lost, we all feel the loss.

Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your dedication to caring for others.

Cataula Fire & Rescue is proud to help spread the word about the **Wheels of Fire Benefit Ride** coming up **Saturday, September 26th!**

This is a great opportunity to enjoy a day of motorcycles, Jeeps, specialty vehicles, food, music, raffles, and an escorted ride — all while supporting a great cause.

🔥 Proceeds benefit the Harris County High School Fire Science Program** and help provide opportunities for the next generation of firefighters.

🔥 **DID YOU KNOW?** 🚨

Not every firefighter responding to an emergency will be driving a fire truck.

When the tones drop, they may be at home, at work, or out running errands. When they hear the call, they may respond directly to the scene or to one of our stations **in their personal vehicle**.

That means you may see a personal vehicle displaying **red and/or white emergency warning lights** while a firefighter is responding. That volunteer may be trying to get to the station to bring a fire truck to the emergency — or they may be heading directly to the scene to help someone in our community.

These volunteers aren't responding because it's their job. **They're responding because someone needs help.**

The next time you see those lights, remember:
**There could be a firefighter behind the wheel trying to get to someone who needs them.**

🔥 Monday Night Training! 🔥

Last night, our crew at Cataula Volunteer Fire & Rescue hit the bays for our regular training session. 👨‍🚒🚒Staying sharp means keeping complete familiarity with our equipment, practicing our response times, and ensuring our gear is ready to go at a moment's notice. From donning our turnout gear and SCBA packs to tactical drills, our volunteers are dedicated to being at their best when our community needs us most.

We love what we do, and we love serving Harris County.

As students return to school this Friday, drivers can expect a significant increase in school bus traffic throughout Harris County. With approximately 80-90 school buses on the road each morning and afternoon, we ask everyone to plan ahead, slow down, and remain alert.

When must you stop for a school bus?
- On a two-lane roadway, traffic in both directions must stop.

- On a multi-lane roadway without a median, traffic in both directions must stop.

- On a divided highway with a grass, concrete, or physical median, only traffic traveling behind the bus must stop. Vehicles traveling in the opposite direction are not required to stop
