Camp Cadet Demonstration 👮 🚔

Catasauqua Fire once again returned to Troop M Camp Cadet for our annual vehicle extrication demonstration!

During the demonstration, members explain different aspects of vehicle extrication, providing participants with a first hand experience of strategies and tools implemented to extricate an injured patient from a vehicle. The demonstration was followed by hands-on with hydraulic rescue tools, a brief overview of Rescue/Engine 2, and a Q&A session.

Camp Cadet is a week long program that teens 12–15 can partake in that introduces them to the world of law enforcement procedures and specialties, while including other aspects of emergency services.

Catasauqua and Charotin Hose are proud to assist and maintain relationships with our neighboring first responders!

Newly Certified EMT! 🚑

Join us in congratulating FF (and now EMT) Geoffrey Wetherhold on obtaining his PA State and National Emergency Medical Technician certification! He now joins the ranks of other certified members in the departments in order to provide both a higher level and standard of care to the citizens of the boroughs and our mutual aid partners when needed!

🥚Sheckler Annual Egg Drop 🏫

On May 29th, members of Catasauqua and Charotin Hose assisted with Sheckler Elementary School’s annual egg drop!

4th grade students are tasked with a science project that can be dropped from roughly 60 feet and survive!

Yesterday around 1609 hours, Lehigh County dispatched Catasauqua and Han-Le-Co Fire/Rescue volunteers to the area of 1800 N. Dauphin Street for a reported brush fire. Additional was given for a brush fire on the hill below the 22 overpass, sending Deputy and Engine 2.

Upon arrival, crew found a large brush fire working its way down the hill. The crew of Engine 2 stretched a booster line to make the attack on the Eastern edge of the fire, before wetting down the rest of the area.

Due to the size and location away from water supplies, tankers from East Allen Twp. Fire Department (NC 46) and Allen Township Fire Company No. 1 (NC 45) were sent, along with Whitehall Fire Department - Station 37’s Engine, Brush, and Charotin Hose Brush 18.

While on this assignment, Greenawalds Fire/Rescue 11 was dispatched to the 200 block of Lehigh Street for a reported MVA with injuries. Once handled, Rescue/Engine 11 provided manpower to the scene of the brush fire, before moving back to Bridge Street to cover the Boroughs until Catasauqua/North Catasauqua units could clear.
