I, Harald the Bluetooth, Cyber Viking Sidekick, bring forth an important declaration!

I nearly accepted FREE upgrades from a mysterious traveler named Troy.

Yes.

YES.

You may gasp dramatically.

The traveler arrived bearing free software, system boosts, and promises of glorious treasure. Captain Quackbeard shouted "TREASURE!" and I, Harald, briefly considered embracing these suspicious gifts with great enthusiasm.

But then...

Cyber Viking's beard sensed danger.

Code Quacker began scanning.

Cyber Vision activated.

And suddenly things became VERY TROLLY.

Today was the final official meeting of the Medina Valley AFJROTC CyberPatriot team for this season. It has been an amazing journey watching these students grow their cybersecurity skills, teamwork, and leadership throughout the year.

Back in March, our team had the honor of being filmed and interviewed as part of the upcoming CyberPatriot documentary. It was an exciting experience for our students and a great opportunity to showcase the hard work and dedication they have put into the program.

As a thank-you for participating, CyberPatriot sent the team some awesome CyberPatriot goodies and swag. The students were excited to receive them, and we wanted to share a few pictures of the team members showing off their new gear!

Thank you to CyberPatriot for this incredible opportunity and for continuing to inspire the next generation of cyber defenders.

⚔️ Medina Valley AFJROTC CyberPatriot Career Day Adventure ⚔️

On Friday, May 8, 2026, I was invited to speak at Career Day at Luckey Ranch Elementary School about cybersecurity. I thought I was going to be the only one there discussing cyber… but I was wrong!

Both Medina Valley AFJROTC CyberPatriot Team Captains were there too! 💻🛡️

The three of us set off on an AWESOME Career Day adventure together.

Over the course of 3 ½ hours, we had 7 student rotations from 2nd through 5th grade and spoke to approximately 200 students about cybersecurity, online safety, teamwork, technology, and what it’s like being part of the Medina Valley AFJROTC CyberPatriot Team.

I talked about careers in cybersecurity and what it is like working in the cyber field, while our Team Captains shared their experiences competing in CyberPatriot and all the incredible things they have learned as part of the team.

We demonstrated:
⚡ Live traffic camera feeds
⚡ Underwater communication cables
⚡ Live airplane tracking feeds
⚡ And even my “Joke USB” batch file demonstration

The students were absolutely amazed as they watched the script simulate files being copied into an unknown folder — helping demonstrate why you should NEVER plug an unknown USB device into your computer.

The students asked fantastic questions about:
💻 Cybersecurity
🛡️ Hacking
⚡ Cyber attacks
🏆 CyberPatriot competitions
🚀 Technology careers

Most importantly, we had FUN while teaching students how to stay safe online and explore the exciting world of cyber.

It was also great seeing my Team Captains again and watching them inspire the next generation of future cyber warriors.

The young Vikings of Luckey Ranch are about to discover that cybersecurity isn’t just about computers — it’s about curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and protecting your village online!

🔥⚔️ Cyber Viking Crew… one more gathering before we sail into summer! ⚔️🔥

Tomorrow is Award Night for the Medina Valley AFJROTC CyberPatriot Team—and I’ll be honest… this one hits a little different.
Not just because we’re celebrating achievements…
…but because I get to see this incredible team one last time before summer break.
This season? It was anything but ordinary.
We navigated: 📍 Changes in location

👥 New team members stepping up
⚡ An unexpected early end to our competition season in February
But like true Cyber Vikings… we didn’t stop.
Instead, we made history

🎬 In March, our team was featured in the CyberPatriot Documentary—a moment that captured the heart, grit, and spirit of what this program is all about.

Twelve years with this team…
Ten(ish) years as Coach…
And I can tell you this:
It’s never just about the competition.
It’s about the growth.
The teamwork.
The late practices.
The problem-solving under pressure.
And the bonds built along the way.
I am incredibly proud of every single cadet who stepped into the arena this year.
Tomorrow, we celebrate.
Tomorrow, we reconnect.
Tomorrow, we close out another legendary season—together.
