John and Meilian Lin were among 59 winners of the Jefferson Award. The award ceremony took place at KPIX-TV studio in San Francisco. This award represents the outstanding program services of the Jenny Lin Foundation in youth music and child safety over the past 28 years, and an encouragement to the Foundation in serving the community for years to come. Many thanks to the JLF volunteers. Without your selfless support, we wouldn’t be where we are today!

Effective immediately, the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer of Jennifer Lin is increased from $100,000 to $200,000. Anyone with information on Jenny’s killer please contact the Alameda County Sheriff's Office at (510) 667-3636 or the Jenny Lin toll free hotline at (855)4-JENNY-LIN.

Jenny was a well-liked, straight-A student who was murdered in her own home in 1994 at age fourteen. A reward of $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Jenny’s killer was established shortly after her murder. Through the years, the family and friends of Jenny have never given up hope to find justice for Jenny. Therefore, to continue our commitment to solving the case, we are increasing the reward amount from $100,000 to $200,000.

We could not hold our Summer Youth Music Program yet in 2021, but we will return to our normal 6-week JLF Summer Youth Music Program in 2022! Instead, the 2021 JLF Summer Child Safety Event is happening next week. FINDING OUR WAY ... is a one week event with two virtual meetings on Mon., 7/5 and Wed. 7/7 from 7:00-8:30 pm. The week culminates IRL with a short concert at the Castro Valley Marketplace's Grand Opening on that Sunday, 7/11 at 5:00. The Quartet 4 Jenny features 2 violins, a viola and a cello and will be playing String quartets from Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Haydn as well as some more modern arrangements in the Paseo between the Marketplace and the Ice Creamery building. Jenny Lin Foundation will have a table set up from 2:00-6:00 in the Paseo, so come join us and say hello IN PERSON!

The two virtual child safety events are open to parents as well as Middle School, High School and College-aged students. To participate in the two ZOOM Webinar evenings, register at www.jennylinfoundation.org and click on 2021 Music Program and we will send you the links for the Zoom Webinars. We will be playing games as well as hearing from a Sheriff’s Deputy about staying safe in real life and from Dr. Pamela Wisniewski, Assoc. Professor at Univ. of Central Florida--an expert researcher in the area of Self-Regulation of Teen Internet Use. Please join us for this discussion that is relevant after this year of unprecedented teen internet usage!

Please join us in a virtual event to remember Jennifer Han-chi Lin for her 27th anniversary. As Jenny’s parents, our grief and sorrow never end as we continue searching for justice through the law enforcement agencies, and working with friends and volunteers on building a safer and more caring community.

Once again, due to Covid-19, we are not able to hold a physical ceremony for Jenny, but instead, we will hold a virtual event via Internet. The event will be a live broadcast on the internet on Thursday, May 27, at 7 PM.
