We are 100% volunteer, we provide emergency services to the town of Croghan, Denmark, and village of Castorland in Lewis County NY, at present we have 40 members

INCIDENT 05/16/2026 at 0208 hrs. Castorland was alerted for standby at our station Natural Bridge was enroute to a reported Structure fire on Bear Town road Jefferson county Town of Wilna. Two minutes later and before any member answered up on the radio Dispatched retoned Castorland and reported Natural Bridge wanted Tankers to the scene. Soon after Castorland Engine/Tanker 1, Tanker 2 responded. We arrived with the other fire department tankers on scene and staged waiting our turn to drop water, around 0450 hrs. Natural Bridge Command released Castorland, we returned to the station and reported back in service at 0530 hrs.

INCIDENT 4/22/2026 at 2055 hrs. Castorland Beaver Falls was dispatched to 9212 cut off road, town of New Bremen for a possible structure fire. Caller reports a smell of smoke and smoke detectors are sounding, she is evacuating the building.Castorland Truck 1, Rescue, Engine /Tanker 1 responded. Truck 1 arrived and stage awaiting instruction beaver falls was investigating other units arrived and staged. Beaver falls chief released Castorland after their investigation found no reason for the smoke detector's to sound. Castorland units cleared the scene reported back in service at 2131 hrs.

we voted in one member and had another apply for the RAM program.

04/05/2026

INCIDENT 04/04/2026 at 1309 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to 9085 Ridge road Town of Denmark, for a possible illegal burn close to a building. Castorland Engine 2, Engine1, Tanker 2, Rescue responded. Engine 2 and Chief arrived and found the homeowner burning a Building. Chief ordered handlines deployed to extinguish the two piles of debris other units arrived soon after, Beaver falls was ordered to establish a water site at the dry hydrant next residence down the road Tankers to the scene. Encon (dec) officer was called due to the no burn law in effect. After the fire was extinguished Beaver Falls was released, hose lines were repacked on Engine 2. Castorland cleared the scene reporting back in service at 1515 hrs.

04/04/2026

INCIDENT 04/03/2026 hrs. at 0058 hrs. Castorland, Beaver Falls was dispatched to 9187 Cutoff Road, Town of New Bremen for a tree down on wires burning. Castorland Rescue, Utility responded Rescue was turning onto cutoff road when Beaver Falls chief Canceled castorland units, Rescue and Utility returned to station reporting back in service at 0126 hrs.
