Castlewood High School Official Home of the Castlewood Blue Devils! Castlewood High School is located in Castlewood, Virginia. John E. Michael Roberson, Principal, and Mr.

Our school offers Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, and Career/Technical courses in addition to other academic courses. The home of the Blue Devils began in the fall of 1950, being built after a fire destroyed Temple Hill School. Castlewood High School integrated in 1965 with students from Arty Lee High School in Dante, Virginia. Carter was the first CHS principal, and this year the faculty , staff, and community are working with the leadership team of Mr. Jarrod Sparks, Assistant Principal.

CHS students joined Mrs. Turner’s class and other students from across the county for a fun-filled adventure at the Russell County Fair! The group enjoyed carnival rides, explored the exhibits, and, of course, especially enjoyed a game or two of putt-putt. It was a great day filled with fun, laughter, and making memories together!

Ready. Set. Teach! Teacher Cadets are excited to begin working alongside their mentor teachers at CES starting Wednesday.

Mrs. Kennedy’s English 12 students kicked off their new unit by bringing Shakespeare to life! 🎭 Students worked in groups to create mood and atmosphere for using only a few prompts and whatever resources they had nearby. Water bottles, textbooks, chip bags, classroom items, and even the clothes on their backs became sound effects, props, and costumes as students explored how performance choices can shape the feeling of a scene.
