Training Drill Notice:

The Castle Shannon Volunteer Fire Department will be conducting a training drill with the Allegheny County Hazardous Materials Response Team this evening from approximately 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM in the Memorial Hall parking lot.

Residents and motorists in the area may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles, personnel in protective equipment, and other training activity during this time.

There is no emergency or danger to the public. All activity at the station is part of a scheduled training exercise.

This past Friday, several members of the CSVFD traveled to Somerset, PA to participate in the Somerset Regional VFD’s 25th Anniversary of Flight 93 Memorial Parade. Being on such hallowed grounds truly humbles one’s self. We were so grateful to have been invited to this event. To meet not only members of other fire departments from across the country but to be able to speak directly to first responders who were first on scene of the Flight 93 crash was emotional and empowering. This trip makes one remember EVERY detail of where they were and what they were doing on September 11, 2001. It was truly a day that will never be forgotten!
