Our e-motos have arrived and we've begun training with them. This will allow us faster access to both searches and rescues on trails throughout the county. ICAR – International Mountain Rescue Day
August 28, 1948 – A milestone in mountain rescue history 📅
On this weekend in 1948, mountain rescue pioneers from different countries gathered at Wilder Kaiser mountain range at the invitation of the Austrian Alpine Club. The people present exchanged knowledge, shared experiences, and laid the foundation for what would soon become ICAR – the International Commission for Alpine Rescue – officially founded in 1955.
Today ICAR has grown to a network of over 140 member organizations in 41 countries around the world. This impressive global network reflects the strong spirit of networking, cooperation and shared commitment to saving lives in the mountains.
🥾 Today, we honour the spirit of collaboration and the tireless dedication of all the women and men who often risk their lives to keep others safe in the mountains. Thank you for your courage, commitment, and community. 🏔️❤️

"Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced on Saturday night that the entire trail system at Castlewood Canyon State Park near Franktown will be closed until further notice. They also said the west side of the park will be shut down because parts of South Castlewood Canyon Road were washed out."

"The east side entrance of the state park will remain open on Sunday, and CPW said in a news release that some trails on the east side of the park might reopen on Monday."
