Keep an eye out for your local firefighters and help them 'fill the boot' this Labor Day weekend. Today is the final day our crews will be out collecting donations.

🚒 A HUGE EMS win for Castle Rock Fire And Rescue Department and Sky Ridge Medical Center 🚑

The vast majority of the emergency incidents that we respond to are EMS related and this one was special!

A few weeks ago, the Castle Rock Fire crew on Quint and Medic 151 cared for a patient experiencing a stroke. Their rapid assessment, excellent care, and early notification to Sky Ridge helped lead to one of the fastest door-to-needle times in Sky Ridge history.

The result? A 100% return to the patient’s normal life. ❤️

Sky Ridge staff came down to Station 151 yesterday to recognize the crew with awards and challenge coins for their efforts.

This is what great EMS looks like: recognizing the emergency, moving quickly, communicating effectively, and working together to give a patient the best possible outcome.

When an emergency happens in the community, the impact may continue long after first responders leave the scene. Witnessing a serious accident, medical emergency, fire or other traumatic event can be difficult to process, even when no physical injuries occur.

Feelings of anxiety, sadness, anger or being overwhelmed may arise, along with difficulty sleeping or concentrating. These reactions can affect anyone who experiences or witnesses a traumatic event.

Firefighters understand that impact, too. Difficult calls can stay with CRFD members after the emergency is over, which is why our firefighters have access to resources that help them process difficult experiences and navigate the challenges that come with the job.

Similar support is available for members of the community.

Anyone affected by a traumatic event doesn't have to navigate the experience alone. Resources are available for those who need someone to talk to, want to better understand what they are experiencing, or need help connecting with professional care. Seeking support can be an important step for firefighters and community members alike.

🛹🚒 CRFD is ready to Skate & Deploy!

We’re excited to officially launch Castle Rock Fire and Rescue’s Skate & Deploy team! Our team is joining our partners at Castle Rock Police Department to connect with the community in a new way.

Come meet our team at the next Skate & Deploy event! Join us Saturday, Sept. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Metzler Ranch Community Park, 4175 Trail Boss Drive.

Whether you skate or just want to stop by and meet the team, we hope to see you at the park.

Progress continues on our newest station! Crews are currently completing the retaining wall — a key structural milestone that sets the stage for the next phases of vertical construction.

We're excited to watch this station come together and can't wait to welcome our crews home when it's complete. Stay tuned for more updates as construction progresses!

School may be back in session, but a few pool days may still be on the calendar. Even as pool days become limited, water safety should remain top of mind.

Drowning can happen in seconds, but a watchful set of eyes can help make the final days of pool season safer. Whether or not a lifeguard is present, adults should designate a Water Watcher. This adult’s only responsibility is to actively watch the swimmers in their group without distractions. Rotate Water Watchers every 15 minutes to keep everyone alert and ready to help little swimmers safely enjoy the final days of pool season.
