Loop 410 San Pedro Improvements Project

Construction to begin on the Loop 410 San Pedro Improvements project
Overnight lane closures will begin next week
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will begin construction the week of Sept. 13 on the Loop 410 San Pedro Improvements project in north central San Antonio. The $156 million project includes safety and mobility improvements along Loop 410 from West Avenue to Broadway Street and along US 281 between Nakoma Drive and Loop 410.
The project is designed to improve traffic flow and enhance safety on one of the region’s most congested corridors. Planned improvements include ramp modifications, frontage road enhancements and intersection improvements. Once complete, the project is expected to significantly reduce crashes and reduce travel times by up to 70%.
The first phase of construction will focus on Loop 410 from West Avenue to San Pedro Avenue. To minimize traffic impacts during peak travel times, most lane closures will take place weeknights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down, follow road signs, and remain alert when traveling through the area. Obeying the speed limit and exercising caution in work zones helps protect both drivers and workers.
The contractor is Webber. The project is anticipated to be complete in 2029.
