I just took all the pictures off my blog because I found out I have to get permission to use them first. But I put the links to the pictures on there, so you can click the links and see the pics.--Dottie

Do you have any old clothing you wish to preserve? The Huntington Daughters of Utah Pioneers inherited some old clothing that had not been well taken care of. I brought them to the Archives to preserve them and give them back to them. Some old coats owned by early Huntington residents were very dirty. I vacuumed them with a brush nozzle to get all the dust from them. To preserve them, they have some tissue paper slightly scrunched to put along all the folds of the clothing so there are no creases. The tissue paper has to be acid free archival quality. Then they are placed in acid free boxes to keep dirt, light, moisture away.

I went over to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers building in Huntington to show them how to preserve some of their historic items. This service is available to anyone!

The profile photograph is of my great grandfather William Morely Black who settled in Huntington in the early days. He wears a ribbon and badge for being a pioneer and also for fighting in the Utah Indian Wars.
