Cass County Road Commission A rural county road commission located is the southwestern part of Michigan bordering the state of Indiana. Many public roads are paved but some are gravel.

Cass County has approximately 508 square miles with a population of over 52,00 people. The county is approximately 24 miles wide by 22 miles deep making it the 2nd smallest county in Michigan. Major trunk lines, maintained by MDOT, includes US-12, M-60, M-62, M-51, M-40, M-152, M-216 and M-205. Cass County contains 15 Townships, 4 Villages and 1 City with Cassopolis headquarters situated in the mi

ddle of the county. The Cass County Road Commission has the responsibility for the construction and maintenance of all 1015 miles of public roads and bridges located within the road system. At the direction of the townships, the Road Commission also constructs and improves county local roads. It is only one of three counties in Michigan to own and operate its own asphalt plant and have an open air mining operation producing its own sand and gravel. The work of the Cass County Road Commission includes not only snow removal and road repair, but also the upgrading and building of new and existing roads to current standards.

Decatur Road between Marcellus Hwy to Fosdick St. is scheduled to be milled on Tuesday, August 18 and paved on Wednesday August 19th & Thursday, August 20th. All work will be under flag control, but we suggest an alternate route due to slow or stopped traffic.

Dailey Road between Yankee St. and Pine Lake St. will be closed during a culvert replacement project.
