🚨 Press Release 🚨

Yesterday morning, at approximately 0446 hours, the Central Cass Fire Department was dispatched to an iPhone Crash Detection notification near Dailey Road and Peavine Street.

Cass County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived in the area and provided an updated location of Dailey Road and Beeson Street. The call was then upgraded to a two-vehicle personal injury crash with entrapment and an unresponsive subject.

Central Cass firefighters arrived on scene and assisted with patient extrication. The patient was then turned over to SMCAS for medical care and transport.

A power pole was also critically compromised as a result of the crash. Fire personnel remained on scene and assisted with traffic control until Midwest Energy & Communications arrived and took over the utility hazard.

Earlier today, Central Cass Fire responded to a gas line strike near East St. and Water St.

Out of an abundance of caution, nearby residents were temporarily evacuated while crews worked alongside the gas company to secure the leak.

The gas line has since been capped and there is no active leak at this time. Residents are able to safely return home while repair work continues in the area.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation during the incident.

🇺🇸 Neighbors Helping Neighbors 🚨

Big thank you to Midwest Energy & Communications for helping us out by stringing up a line on our damaged flag pole.

We appreciate the help getting things back in shape (turns out we don’t love heights). Midwest does a lot behind the scenes for this community, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.
