Monica McMichael - Cass County Clerk/Register of Deeds The County Clerk Register maintains vital, land and Circuit Court records. They also perform marriages and are the chief election official in the county.

The County Clerk Register is an elected official with a four-year term as provided by the Michigan Constitution. The duties of the Clerk Register are prescribed by law and include:

Clerk of the Circuit Court
Clerk of the Board of Commissioners
Clerk of the County Election Commission
Clerk of the Jury Board
Clerk of the Gun Board
Clerk of the Plat Board
Clerk of the Cas

s County Transportation Authority
Clerk of the Cass County Building Authority
Registrar of Vital Records

The County Clerk Register issues marriage licenses, birth and death certificates, assumed business names and partnership certificates, concealed gun permits, veteran discharge records, notary commissions, genealogy records and voter registration records. The County Clerk Register as Chief Election Officer for the County supervises elections, receives and files petitions, serves as a member of the County Election Commission and Clerk of the Board of Canvassers. When Federal and State Elections are held, the County tabulates returns on election night and posts results over the Internet, www.electionmagic.com. The County Clerk Register is the keeper of the Circuit Court Records, and maintains the Circuit Court/Family Court Files.

🚧 IMMEDIATE ROAD CLOSURE 🚧

Cassopolis Road between Mt. Zion Street and Osborn Street is CLOSED effective Immediately due to a bridge failure. This will be closed until further notice.

The Detour is set using Mt. Zion Street, Robinson Road and Osborn Street.

All emergency services and schools have been notified. For the safety of our residents, please do not attempt to travel through this section of road.
