South Seminole Academy of Leadership, Law & Advanced Studies magnet school. The focus of the magnet program is designed to spark the student’s initiative and leadership potential in a global society. The curriculum develops the skills students need to become productive and responsible leaders of the future. Students have the opportunity to explore the language and culture of societies that impact

our daily lives. Current technology is utilized to connect with other schools throughout the world to investigate global issues. South Seminole Academy also offers preparation for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program at Seminole High School or Winter Springs High School (eligibility determined by school zone). The Seminole County Public Schools Pre-IB Preparatory Program offers an extensive course of study in math, science, foreign language, social studies and language arts--with an emphasis on independent study, in-depth learning and accelerated curriculum requirements. In Ms. Mirza's Transportation Careers Leadership Academy, the class had a discussion about different forms of water transportation including how to become a cruise ship captain. They talked about fun facts like how in Venice there are canals instead of roads, cruises don't have a 13th floor because of superstitions, and "what happened to the Titanic and why". After the discussion the students designed aluminum foil boats, and they had a contest of whose boat could hold the most keys without sinking!

Students put their childcare learning into action through hands-on station rotations. From preparing formula bottles and changing diapers to learning how wetness indicators work and practicing proper bottle washing, students experienced the real-world skills involved in caring for young children.
Mrs. Phillips makes learning hands-on, relevant, and engaging—giving students an authentic look at careers in education and childcare. It’s easy to see why Intro to Education is a favorite Career Exploration course at South Seminole Academy!
