As we near completion of a new traffic pattern within the City of Casselberry, we wanted to share some tips from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) about how to use a roundabout.

When approaching a roundabout, please obey all signage and pavement markings and watch for pedestrians and other vulnerable roadway users.

FDOT has produced a general informational video explaining how to use a roundabout safely and correctly.

As more roundabouts are built throughout Central Florida, motorists...

Today, the City of Casselberry hosted the World's Largest Swim Lesson. This global initiative was started to help with water safety awareness and has become an annual event across multiple communities. 🏊

Held at the Casselberry Aquatics Center, this free event provided free swim lessons throughout the day to promote water safety while giving lifesaving swimming skills to children of all ages.

We appreciate all the parents and kids that came out and participated today. 🫶

Last week, our utilities staff replaced a check valve at one of our water plants. This important component helps ensure that water flows in the correct direction when multiple wells are running.

We’re grateful for the skill and attention to detail our crews bring to every project and for maintaining the systems our residents depend on every day.

📣ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE

Due to unexpected delays in construction, the road closure at the intersection of Winter Park Drive and Wilshire Drive has been extended through Friday, June 26.

Work is nearing completion. This week Crews will place two one-inch asphalt lifts, allow time for proper curing, and install all required signage and pavement markings. A few minor items may follow before the intersection can safely reopen.

⚠️New Traffic Pattern⚠️

Please be advised, there will be a new traffic pattern at the intersection of Winter Park Drive and Wilshire Drive beginning later this week. When approaching a roundabout, please obey all signage and pavement markings and watch for pedestrians and other vulnerable roadway users.

As a rule of thumb, when approaching a roundabout:

✅Approach slowly
✅Yield to traffic already in the roundabout
✅Merge into the roundabout, moving forward and travel in a counterclockwise motion, staying in your lane.
✅Signal upon exiting
✅Exit the roundabout and keep moving

📣Call for Artists: ALT Photo (Alternative Photography) 📸

✅Now Accepting entries
✅Submission Deadline: July 26
✅Exhibition dates: Aug 7 - 31

ALT Photo seeks to expand the interpretation of photographic imagery beyond traditional methods with a focus on alternative and experimental processes. It delves into the making of a photograph as a conceptual practice, highlighting the use of the artist’s hand in the photographic experience. The image is used to capture the life of a subject, shape light, and is a visual record of a brief moment in time. This exhibition explores the technical nuance, physicality, and unpredictability of image making.

We invite artists who are working with an array of alternative photography methods such as cyanotypes and photograms, anthotypes, photogravure, albumen printing, platinum and palladium printing, wet plate collodion (tin types, ambrotypes), photomontage, etc. This exhibition is an opportunity for the reinterpretation of making the photo in combination with contemporary experimentation.
