All Kelly Walsh students are unharmed. We're standing by to help out NC coaches and students get safely back to Casper. Thank you for all who have reached out with concerns.
UPDATE: 2:56PM
At this time, all students and staff involved in the incident are returning home to Casper. In addition, the KWHS Speech and Debate bus, which was not involved in the incident, is also returning home.
We want to share our appreciation to the staff, students, the Wyoming Highway Patrol, all Carbon County first responder agencies, Carbon County School District #1, Natrona County Emergency Management, and all others who worked diligently to provide support, assistance, and resources to NCSD, our students/staff, and each other, during this incident. Thank you.

Today, at approx. 9:26 am, December 8th, 2023, a Natrona County High School bus on the way to a Speech and Debate event in Rock Springs was involved in a traffic accident on the interstate.
First responders were immediately dispatched to assist all individuals involved in the accident. All parents and guardians of students involved have been contacted.
Kelly Walsh High School was also traveling to this speech and debate event today. They were not involved in the accident.
The Natrona County School District is working directly with the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Carbon County emergency agencies, the Natrona County Emergency Management office, and Carbon County School District #1 to ensure all students and staff return home safely.
