May 30 will bring two unusual lunar events together in one night skyβ€”
a blue micromoon.

From NASA

Soon... full moon!

Our next full moon will show up in the night skies on Sunday, May 31. Because it's the second full moon we've had this month, it's also known as a Blue Moon.

If the skies are clear in your neighborhood, this may be a great chance to take your new favorite Moon photo. Whether you're using a professional camera or just your smartphone, we have a Lunar Photography Guide with tips and tricks for shooting the Moon. (For example: if you're on your phone, consider using a photo timer to keep from jostling your phone when you snap the picture.)
