📣 CASEYVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT – NEWS RELEASE 📣

There have been many requests/questions regarding this incident and the video circulating.

On June 12, 2026, a Caseyville Police Officer observed a dark green Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound on Route 157 near California Drive at a high rate of speed. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop; however, the vehicle fled at an even higher rate of speed.

During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle lost control while attempting to enter Interstate 255 North from State Street and struck the raised center median, disabling the front right tire. The vehicle ultimately came to rest near the intersection of State Street and 71st Street.

The driver failed to comply with multiple lawful commands to exit the vehicle. As a result, less-lethal force options, including pepper ball and Super-Sock bean bag impact rounds, were deployed. All four occupants were safely taken into custody without further incident.

The following case was presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, on June 13, 2026, the following individual was formally charged:

Neil H. Williams (B/M, DOB: 04/27/2001 of Belleville,IL)

Charges:

• Several St. Clair County felony warrants
• Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (Class 3 Felony)
• Possession of a Stolen Firearm (Class 2 Felony)
• Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding Police (Class 4 Felony)

The Caseyville Police Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the East St. Louis Police Department, the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department, and the Illinois State Police for their valuable assistance in this matter.
