Casey Township Library The Casey Township Library would like to keep you informed of upcoming events and activities.

History: Two prominent Casey citizens, Edward and Elizabeth Kline made a bequest in their will that money from their estate be used to build and equip a public library for the citizens of Casey. A certificate of organization was issued by the State of Illinois in October, 1926, and a Board was appointed to administer the Kline Memorial Library Trust Fund. The building was completed and opened to t

he public in October, 1938. Taxpayers of Casey Township approved a referendum that year to provide funds for operation and maintenance, and in May, 1939 the holdings and rights of the Kline Memorial Library were transferred to the newly-elected Casey Township Board of Trustees. Renovations were made in 1973 to provide more space for the collection. The library serves the residents of Casey Township and the surrounding area. Story hours are conducted for pre-school children--some in the homes of daycare providers, summer reading programs are well attended by children.

What's Happening at the Library in June?

We will be CLOSED on June, 19th for Juneteenth!

Tuesdays, June 2, 9, 23, & 30 and Monday June, 15 - 1pm is BINGO with Renee! It is FREE and no registration is required. ALL are welcome.

Wednesdays, June 3, 10, 17, & 24 - 11am every Wednesday this month we will have a fun activity planned for our Summer Reading Program! We'll also have a special Reading Challenge to go along with our program that will end on June 30th. Reading logs can be picked up at the library during the program or at any time.

Thursday, June 18- At 11am Jaden from Verizon will be hosting a Tech Class to answer your questions about your device. You do not need to be a Verizon customer to participate. All are welcome. Bring your devices and your questions!

Fridays, June 5, 12, 19, & 26 - 11am every Friday will be Mother Goose on the Loose our birth to five program. It is FREE and no registration is required.

Fridays, June 5, 12, 19, & 26 - 3:30pm to 5:00pm every Friday is Gaming Club! We have a limited number of devices, but you are welcome to bring your own. Come play with us!

DELIVERY services are available on Tuesdays for patrons inside Casey city limits! Just give the library a call (217-932-2105) to let us know!

CURBSIDE PICKUP services are available every day. If you have items you would like to return or for us to run out to your car, please give us a call and let us know you are here! (217-932-2105)

The StoryWalk® for June is "Revolutionary Mary" by Karen Blumenthal and is sponsored by the Casey Historical Society!

We have Libby! Make sure you download the app and check out all the great ebooks and audiobooks you can check out using your Casey Township Library card! You can also check out the CloudLibrary for ebooks and audiobooks as well!

Be sure to like the Friends of the Casey Township Library FB page to keep on top of ways you can come alongside of the library. They are working hard at fundraisers to support all of the wonderful programs and to help contribute to our building fund.

Need a library card? Cards are FREE to residents of Casey Township. Non-residents the cost is $70/year. If you reside in the Casey-Westfield School District and have a K-12th grade student (including homeschoolers) living in your home, you qualify for a FREE library card for your family from August of 2025 to July of 2026! To obtain a library card we need a valid photo id and a piece of mail with your current address.

Next week marks the start of our Summer Reading Program! Every Wednesday at 11AM we will have something fun planned at the library.

June 3rd: Touch a Tractor - Sloan Implement will be providing farming equipment for everyone to see and explore!

June 10th: Fun with Terra Cottage - There's nothing more perfect for our theme "Plant a Seed, Read" than an activity planned by Terra Cottage!

June 17th: Lincoln Log Cabin - Join us for a special story and activity brought to us from the Lincoln Log Cabin!

June 24th: End of Program Celebration - Bouncy slides, games, and fun! We'll be ending our month of summer reading with a bash!
