745 were medical-related emergencies,
19 were fire-related incidents,
27 were HazMat-related incidents and
377 were other types calls and emergencies.

CGFD responded to a possible fire at Circle K on Pinal and Rodeo after employees reported hearing nearby thunder, followed by a loss of power and the smell of something burning.
As a precaution, employees quickly evacuated all customers from the building while firefighters investigated.
Firefighters conducted a thorough walk-through of the entire building, including the roof, looking for any signs of fire or other hazards. During the investigation, firefighters found that an air-conditioning unit was hot and suspect it may have been the source of the burning smell.
Thankfully, no one was injured. The investigation will continue to determine the exact cause.
We appreciate the Circle K employees for taking the situation seriously, evacuating customers, and calling 911. When you smell something burning or suspect a fire, don’t ignore it. Get out and call 9-1-1.

Turnout gear is vital protection from heat, flames, and other hazards but it comes with a downside: WEIGHT.
A fully equipped firefighter can carry 60+ additional pounds of protective gear and equipment, including their coat, pants, boots, gloves, helmet, SCBA mask, air cylinder, and tools. And they’re carrying all that while climbing stairs, pulling hose lines, searching buildings, and performing rescues.
It’s heavy. It’s demanding. But when it comes to safety and protection, firefighters will take the weight every time.

Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED – Designed for people who need CPR and first aid training but are not healthcare providers.

Happy National Dog Day from CGFD! 🚒🐶🐾

Did you know that dogs have a long history with the fire service?

Dalmatian dogs became closely associated with firefighters in the days of horse-drawn fire apparatus. Their natural connection with horses made them excellent companions for fire crews. Dalmatians would run alongside the horses as firefighters raced to an emergency, helping clear a path through the streets and keeping other animals and people away from the horses.

Once the fire crew arrived, the dogs would often remain with the horses and guard the equipment while firefighters battled the fire. Their courage, loyalty, and distinctive appearance helped make the Dalmatian a beloved symbol of the firehouse.

Today, we may not have Dalmatians running alongside our fire engines, but their connection to the fire service lives on—and you can even see that tradition reflected in Sparky the Fire Dog, the famous fire-safety mascot of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

At CGFD, we’re proud to carry on the tradition of using Sparky to help teach children and families about fire and life safety.

OUR NEXT MATTER OF BALANCE CLASS IS COMING UP!

Are you or someone you know concerned about falling or worried that a fall could limit the activities you enjoy? Our FREE Matter of Balance program can help you feel more confident, active, and in control!

YOU WILL LEARN:
- View falls as controllable
-Set goals for increasing activity
- Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
- Exercise to increase strength and balance

Classes will be held twice a week for 4 weeks

Casa Grande Fire Department crews responded to a fire at a vacant home on 3rd Street this afternoon. Firefighters arrived quickly, worked efficiently, and extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.

The fire appears to have started in a small room containing a water heater. No injuries were reported.

Our crews are always ready to respond when our community needs us. We are proud to serve our community.

Members of our TRT (Technical Rescue Technician) Team recently participated in a palm tree training with other agencies.

Palm tree rescues aren’t an everyday call, but when tree trimmers or utility workers become injured or stranded high above the ground, the situation can quickly become critical.

These specialized training drills prepare our firefighters to safely access, stabilize, and rescue individuals from elevated and challenging environments.

Training for the calls we hope never happen ensures we’re ready when they do. Great work by our crews for continuing to train, learn, and stay prepared! 🚒💪
