Caryville Volunteer Fire Department Caryville Volunteer Fire Department is made up of 21 volunteers and 1 full time employee. We cover the Town of Caryville and surrounding area.

We provide Fire protection and vehicle extrication to the citizens and visitor to the Caryville Area.

The Town of Caryville will be testing the emergency warning siren at 10:30 am Wednesday February 28th. If severe weather is forecast the test will not be done.

Tennessee Severe Weather Awareness Week will be February 19th - 25th this year. Along with awareness week the Town of Caryville will be testing our waring siren. The test will be conducted on Wednesday February 22nd at 10:30 am. The test is used to test the system and to allow the public to know what the siren sounds like when it is activated. The siren will sound for 3 minutes. If there is a possibility of severe weather that day the test will not be done.

This watch covers all of Campbell County. If the watch is upgraded to a tornado wearning the emergency siren will be activated for 3 minutes. If a tornado is spotted in the area the emergency siren will be activated for multiple 3 minute cycles.

After the warning siren test, we had several questions from citizens concerning actions and procedures to take if the sirens have been activated. Attached to this post is the standard operating procedures to take should the emergency warning sirens be activated.
