The Village of Cary Curbside Brush Pick-Up Program will take place during the following dates:
Beginning the week of October 5: NORTH of the Train Tracks
Beginning the week of October 12: SOUTH of the Train Tracks

The Village's Curbside Brush Collection is a free service offered to Cary residents to assist them with their landscape maintenance. The program is designed to dispose of large branches and tree limbs that cannot be collected through regular refuse collection. In order to maintain program efficiency, the volume guidelines are strictly adhered to.

• Only one pass is made. Branches must be at the curb by 7:00am on Monday the week of your pickup. NO CALLBACKS ARE ALLOWED.
• The minimum length of branches is four (4) feet. Diameter between 2-8 inches.
• The volume of brush must not be larger than eight feet long by four feet high. (Or what would fit within the back of a standard pick-up truck.)
• Neatly stacked with cut ends towards the street. No small twigs, thorny material or root balls.
• For piles larger than what is listed above, the Village can provide a quote for a special collection for a nominal fee once the Village-wide collection is completed.

Reminder: Flood Brothers offers unlimited weekly curbside brush pick-up on your assigned garbage collection day if bundled and less than four (4) feet in length *or* placed in yard waste bags.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless acts of courage, service, and sacrifice that followed.

The Cary Fire Protection District invites the community to join us Friday, September 11, at Station 1 for a remembrance ceremony beginning at 8:40 a.m. The ceremony will include reflections from local leaders, a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., and the traditional tolling of the fire bell.

Following the ceremony, guests are invited to stay for coffee and light refreshments as we gather together in remembrance.

The regular refuse collection schedule will be slightly altered by being pushed back one day due to the Labor Day holiday.

Residents are reminded to have their refuse placed out by the curb no later than 7:00 a.m.

McHenry County is extending its annual invite to the public and policymakers to learn more about McHenry County’s water supply, and the need to use it wisely and protect it.

The ninth annual McHenry County Water Forum will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 at the McHenry County College Luecht Auditorium (Building B), 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake. The forum is hosted by the McHenry County Department of Planning and Development, with generous support from the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County and a wide range of sponsors.

The Water Forum is free and open to the public, and no registration is required. Free catered food will be provided by Duke’s Alehouse and Kitchen; multiple serving lines will be in place this year to provide faster service.
