Today marks the beginning of National Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month, a celebration spanning September 15 to October 15. Cary celebrates the Hispanic and Latino residents, families, business owners, artists, and leaders whose stories, traditions, and contributions enrich our community.

This year, Cary proudly sponsored the Ritmo Latino Festival with Diamante Arts & Cultural Center at Downtown Cary Park, which celebrates Latino and Hispanic arts, culture, and traditions across North Carolina.

đź’§ UPDATE: System Pressure Advisory Lifted
Bacteriological testing following Monday’s 30-inch water main break on N.C. 55 has confirmed that water is safe for normal use. Cary has lifted the System Pressure Advisory for affected water customers.

All 14 water samples collected from the affected area were absent of bacteria. Customers may resume normal water use.

đź’§ You may notice air in your pipes. Run water for roughly one minute to flush your lines and water-using fixtures.
đź’§Dispose of any ice or beverages made with tap water during the advisory.
đź’§Cary spraygrounds and fountains are resuming normal operations.

N.C. 55 remains open with two northbound lanes and one southbound lane between Jenks Road/Old Jenks Road and Lewey Drive/Turner Creek Road. Crews remain on-site, so please use caution and expect delays.

UPDATE: System Pressure Advisory Lifted
Cary continues to monitor and respond to a water main break on N.C. 55 that occurred early Monday morning. Crews remain onsite as work continues in the area, and a System Pressure Advisory remains in effect for water customers in Cary and Morrisville within the Central Pressure Zone. Water test results are expected in the early morning hours on Tuesday, September 15.
