Rotary Club of Cary-Grove Rotary Club of Cary-Grove Founded in Chicago in 1905, Rotary celebrated 100 years of service in 2005.

Rotary International is a volunteer organization of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service, and help to build goodwill and peace in the world. There are approximately 1.2 million Rotary club members belonging to 33,000 Rotary Clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. The Rotary Foundation has awarded more than US$1.9 billion in grants, which are administered at the local level by Rotary Clubs.

At our Sept 3 meeting the speaker was Club member Paul Schifferer. Paul has a background in military service, retired from the Army National Guard, as well as a dedication to community service. Paul recently accompanied an Honor Flight to Washington DC. His enthusiasm was evident as he shared the experience from the beginning to welcome home the Veterans received as they returned. Paul shared pictures of the events and places the group visited in the Nations Capitol. Thanks to Veterans for their service.

At our Aug 28 Club meeting, our President Phil Stanko, was also our speaker. His presentation, based on Rotary's Three Year Action Plan, was designed to help Club members see how we can continue to "create lasting impact." Rotarians from the Cary-Grove Club were at Picnic Grove Park in Fox River Grove to support the Fox River Grove Memorial Library Family Picnic on Saturday. Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets, attended, volunteered, donated, and supported the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove Century Raffle ~ Rotary Club of Cary-Grove on June 23.

Because of your generosity, this event was a tremendous success!!

Every ticket purchased helps our club continue supporting local initiatives that make a meaningful difference throughout our community. From local literacy programs and scholarships to community events and projects like the Cary Farmer's Market and Operation Pollination at Cary Lake at Rotary Park, your support allows us to continue serving our community in the best ways possible!

At our May 28 meeting, the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove welcomed Kaitlyn and Kelly from the Fox River Grove Memorial Library. They reported on three programs supported by a District 6440 and Cary Rotary Matching Grant--Book Buddies, Cardboard Chronicles (using a ChompSaw to create structures) and Read it and Eat Middle School Book Club. At the conclusion of the meeting, Cindy Finlon, Treasurer and Sue Maifield, Foundation Chair presented the Library $1000 from the Club to expand their audio collections.
