Wildground Enrichment offers children a nature-immersed, screen-free environment where they can run, build, explore, and grow — all at their own pace. Grounded in early childhood best practices, our guides foster belonging, confidence, and social-emotional learning through unstructured outdoor play and gentle rhythm.

We have just 1 spot left for Mondays and 3 spots left for Wednesdays at Deer River Wildground this fall! Sibling Discount available for families enrolling multiple children. To learn more about our programs and to enroll please check out our website at www.deerriverwildground.com

“In nature, a child finds freedom, fantasy, and privacy: a place distant from the adult world, a separate peace.”- Richard Louv, Last Child in the Woods

At Deer River Wildground, we believe in giving your child that very gift: the freedom to roam, imagine, and find their separate peace in nature. Our fall session is now open for enrollment, offering an outdoor space where children lead their own discovery without screens—where leaves crunch, forts rise, and wild curiosity guides the day.

Let this season be about muddy hands, whispered secrets with the river, and wild, unstructured play.

Enrollment now open for the Fall: www.deerriverwildground.com

🍂Let them grow wild, let them be free 🍂

At Wildground, we believe that childhood is not a problem to solve — it's a season to protect. In a world that rushes kids to grow up, labels them too quickly, and disconnects families from their inner wisdom, we’re offering a different path.

Today our summer kiddos noticed some changes happening in our corner of the woods. As Deer River starts to slow and the leaves begin to turn, we observed that summer is winding down. The air feels just a little softer, the light a little lower, and the slow-moving river mirrors the peaceful shift into a new season. At Deer River Wildground, we’re embracing the rhythm of nature—and getting ready for a cozy, wonder-filled Fall Session outdoors.

Starting this September, our child-led nature program continues with:

🍁 Fall Wildground Session
- Mondays & Wednesdays | 10 AM – 1 PM
- Beginning the week of September 15th.
- For fully potty-trained children

Through crisp air and golden leaves, children will explore, build, wander, and play—growing their confidence, creativity, and connection to the natural world.

🍂 Enrollment is open now—and space is limited!
Drop-off, screen-free, and led by your child’s curiosity.

What looks like play is so much more. When children build boats out of bark, leaves, and twigs, they’re not just passing time, they’re learning.

They’re experimenting with buoyancy, weight, balance, and water flow.
They’re exploring cause and effect, adjusting their design, and testing again.
They’re practicing collaboration, problem-solving, and creative thinking.

This is hands-on science. This is early engineering. This is teamwork in action.

There is something magical about the way children come alive in nature. Digging their hands into the mud, wading through streams, building forts with friends, and feeling the earth beneath their feet. It may look like play (and it is), but it is also powerful work for their nervous systems, social development, and emotional resilience. Nature play offers what so many kids today are missing: freedom to move, space to breathe, and time to be. At Deer River Wildground, our nature-based enrichment program is built around this philosophy. We believe that preventative mental health support does not have to look like a classroom or an office. Sometimes, it looks like bare feet, laughter, and muddy hands.

🍂Fall Session Enrollment is Now Open🍂

The river doesn’t rush childhood. It flows slowly, steadily—inviting curiosity, calm, and connection.

Nature gives children what our fast-paced world often takes away: space to breathe, move freely, and feel at peace in their bodies.

At Deer River Wildground, we trust in the power of mud, water, wind, and wonder to support growing minds and hearts.

Mugs & Mud – Tomorrow at 9AM!

It may be a dreary day today, but tomorrow looks bright and sunny — and after all this rain, the banks of the Deer River are full of opportunity!

Join us for Mugs & Mud from 9–10 AM — a relaxed, come-as-you-are hour of:
• Muddy river play for the kids
• Coffee and connection for caregivers (bring your own)
• A chance to slow down and let nature (and childhood) do it's thing

Bring a travel mug, a change of clothes, and your curiosity. All are welcome! If you arrive late, simply park in the lot and head down the trail to join the group! 3852 Deer River Road, Carthage
