Taking a moment to say thank you to all agencies responding today. It was truly a joint effort.

I want to give a special shout out to the employees of SCEMS. It is truly an honor to serve alongside these individuals. We were in our monthly in-service when the call came. Every employee in that room, both on duty and off, responded without hesitation. Their dedication to SCEMS and their community is appreciated. Continued prayers to all involved.

Emergency personnel from multiple agencies will be conducting a training exercise this morning at Union Heights School.

Residents can expect to see a significant presence of emergency responders, emergency vehicles, and equipment in and around the school throughout the exercise.

This is only a training exercise. There is no emergency and no threat to the public. Please avoid the area while we train to better serve.

Join us in congratulating 2 of our great AEMT’s for passing their National Registry Paramedic Exams. Kelsey Ashburn and Joel Lowdermilk. They will soon be graduating from Paramedic School and continue the great job they do serving the citizens and visitors of Smith County. Very proud of both as they have spent the last year, not only working Full Time, but attending school and knocking out clinical hours to increase their licensure level to be able to provide the highest level of care on every call. Both are past AEMT and EMT of the Year winners.
