State of Nevada Housing Division Together, HOME is possible!

The Nevada Housing Division, a division of the Department of Business and Industry, was created by the Nevada Legislature in 1975 when it was recognized that a shortage of safe, decent, and sanitary housing existed throughout the State for persons and families of low- and moderate-income.

Weatherization is about more than energy savings — it also supports health and safety at home. 💙

During a home assessment, the Rural Nevada Development Corporation identified unsafe carbon monoxide levels coming from an oven in a client’s home. The appliance was replaced with a safer, properly functioning unit to help improve conditions within the home.

Through partnerships with agencies like RNDC, the Nevada Housing Division helps support weatherization improvements that can make a meaningful difference for households across Nevada. If you live in Elko, Humboldt, Nye, Pershing, White Pine, or other rural Nevada counties served by RNDC, you may qualify for assistance.

Did you know that working in manufactured housing in Nevada requires a license? 🏠

Under Nevada Revised Statute Chapter 489, dealers, manufacturers, salespersons, and servicepersons are all required to hold the appropriate license. These requirements are in place to protect consumers and ensure quality and compliance across the manufactured housing industry statewide.

Getting started means completing the required forms, passing a licensing exam, and meeting all Nevada Housing Division requirements. 💡 Whether you are new to the industry or checking that your credentials are current, the Nevada Housing Division is here to support you every step of the way. 💙

During National Home Improvement Month, we’re highlighting how home improvements can support both safety and quality of life for Nevada households. 🏠

The Rural Nevada Development Corporation recently replaced an aging 1998 water heater after the original system was no longer producing adequate hot water for the household. The new energy-efficient unit now helps provide safer and more reliable hot water access.

Projects like this are part of the broader work supported through the Nevada Weatherization Assistance Program, helping improve both energy efficiency and everyday living conditions for Nevada households. 💙

Eligible homeowners and renters may qualify for weatherization services through RNDC. See if services are available in your area:

Planning a manufactured housing project in Nevada? 🏠

Understanding the permitting, plan review, and inspection process is an important step before beginning installation, repairs, or structural modifications.

The Nevada Housing Division helps oversee these processes to support safety, compliance, and quality workmanship for manufactured housing projects across the state. Depending on the project, permits, approved plans, and inspections may all be required before work can begin or be finalized.

Whether you are planning an installation, roof replacement, HVAC update, electrical work, or other modifications, knowing what to expect can help projects move more smoothly and efficiently. 💙 Learn more about permits, plans, and inspections:
