Carson City School Resource Officers conducted an Enforcement of Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) sting on 3/31/21. The sting utilized four local students under the age of 21 who entered 50 local business and attempted to purchase alcohol. 9 of the 50 businesses failed. EUDL events will continue throughout the year to educate local businesses and to bring community awareness to the dangers of underage drinking.

School Resource Officer (SRO) Deputy Williams delivers "Good Morning" doughnuts to encourage students to remain engaged in both in school and remote learning.

On 1/15/21 during the evening hours, Carson City School Resource Officers (SROs) conducted an alcohol compliance check of local businesses. This Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) detail consisted of a 15 year old male entering local convenience stores and attempting to purchase alcoholic beverages. 11 business total were selected at random. 2 of the the 11 business sold alcoholic beverages to the 15 year old male. The 2 business that failed the compliance check did not request to see identification. The SROs will continue to conduct EUDL events in the future to promote community awareness.

It is with great honor and sadness, we are announcing Deputy Jarrod Adams is retiring. Deputy Adams has been with the law enforcement community for 29 years and has served with the Carson City Sheriff's Office for over 20 years. In 2016, Deputy Adams was selected to be a school resource officer (SRO) and has proudly served the community and school district in the role since being selected. Deputy Adams commitment to the community and school will be greatly missed. Congratulations Deputy Adams and thank you for your service.

Carson City's DARE program, an anti-drug cooperative effort between the Carson City Sheriff's Office and the Carson City School District, remains active but has been through a difficult time due to COVID-19 and the retirement of longtime officer Lisa Davis.
